Decision to Apply for the International Research Project Manager Position at the National Cancer Center Japan

I have decided to apply for the position of International Research Project Manager (国際研究プロジェクトマネージャー) at the National Cancer Center Japan (NCC), within the International Development Division of the National Cancer Center Hospital in Tokyo, Japan.

Official Job Announcement:
National Cancer Center Japan — International Research Project Manager (Fixed-Term Full-Time Position)

Official Recruitment Portal:
National Cancer Center Japan — Tsukiji Campus Recruitment

The position supports the ATLAS (Asian clinical Trials network for cAncerS) project, an international initiative seeking to strengthen the institutional and operational foundations for collaborative cancer research across Asia.

Its responsibilities include international research project management, coordination among participating institutions and researchers, committee and meeting operations, support for multinational clinical research activities, and the development of sustained international research networks.

My interest in this opportunity is connected to a broader inquiry into how heterogeneous subjects and institutions, shaped by different histories, knowledge systems, and organizational arrangements, may develop cooperative relationships and generate shared value.

During the past year, I have been developing the Generative–Relational Theory research programme and publishing theoretical manuscripts and research books concerning relational structures, institutional formation, cooperation, justice, and value co-creation. I hope to explore how these perspectives may inform practical international cooperation, while allowing institutional experience, dialogue, and emerging challenges to deepen and revise my theoretical understanding.

I am particularly interested in the ways knowledge, capabilities, and value can circulate among participating institutions, contribute to the development of durable cooperative capacities, and eventually support broader global objectives, including Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being).

This application also forms part of my longer-term aspiration to contribute to international cooperation, including the United Nations system and other international institutions, in addressing diverse global challenges.

I am currently preparing the required application documents and reviewing the submission procedures. This post records my decision to apply as part of my personal history of professional activities.
